SCADA Alarms: The Rationale for Rationalization

ISA-18.2 standard describes rationalization as "the process to review potential alarms using the principles of the alarm philosophy, to select alarms for design, and to document the rationale for each alarm”. According to Wall Street Journal, Dell Inc struck a deal on Monday to buy data storage company EMC Corp the majority stakeholder of VMware for $67 billion, setting a record in the technology industry, as it tries to transform itself into a giant in the fast-growing market for managing and storing corporate data.
